The International Webinar Organized The Department Of Sociology, BCWCC On 15-06-2020
The HOD, Mrs Evangeline Rajkumari, Department of Sociology, BCWCC organized an international webinar on : 'E-learning; Covid 19 Pandemic: Impact and Strategies for Education Sector in Indian Society’ on the 15th of June, 2020 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm through live zooming.

There was an active participation from 37 colleges throughout India and abroad with around 180 members taking part. This included 33 students, 13 Professors, 28 Associate Professors, 35 Assistant professors, 40 Lecturers and 30 Research scholars.

The first eminent speaker was Dr. Sujatha Chintakunta, psychologist and a recruiter/student guidance counsellor at Academy of Learning College, Toronto, Canada.

Dr.Chintakunta gave a clear explanation on the socio-psychological effects of covid-19 on mental-health and education of graduate students.

The webinar was then taken over by Mr. Krishnamurthy M, Department of English, Asst Professor, Sheshadripuram College, Bangalore.

He gave an insightful presentation on understanding and learning from the digital divide in education, explaining how the pandemic has effected the education system with all the challenges of online teaching and training, and the impacts on students’ learning quality.

The third and final eminent speaker was Mrs Deepa SV, Department of Sociology, HOD, Asst Professor, GFGC, Chikkaballapura, Karnataka.

With her prerecorded audio and visual presentation, she elucidated on the tools and methodology for easy learning during the current situation to win over digital device - utilize the best of knowledge.

After a vote of thanks which was presented by Ms Aliya Thanveer, the event was then successfully concluded.
